Silly Bloggers

O, my prophetic soul!

In light of the “Civil Serf” blogging case, I tabled a series of questions to a number of Whitehall departments, asking what guidelines were given to officials on both authoring and commenting on blogs.

Now, according to the Mail, “Civil Serf”, who is apparently a 33 year-old official in the DWP, has been both identified and suspended. The Cabinet Office is, the Mail tells us, issuing “guidelines to civil servants to cover insider blogging or comments left on online social networks such as Facebook.”

It is notorious that special advisers, those half-breed chimaeras who are both civil servants and party animals, are active anonymous bloggers. A lot of them will be sweating copiously just now.

Expect more fallout from the “Civil Serf” case. I'll keep you posted.

Talking of blogs , Glyn Davies has come out with it straight on his.
He is very much against positive discrimination for Women of ethnic minority members.
I find that very interesting, for whilst It would not appear to be party policy to be against such policies in certain constituency's, you will always find certain local associations to be against such positive moves to more fully represent the minorities in Parliament.
Some blogs , you get to see the real angle of the person.
Sometimes no bad thing.
I have always agreed that the best candidate should get the nomination, irrespective of sex, colour or creed.

Glyn is a trifle too enthusiastic at best, careless at worst.
The most important thing is to get a fair representation into the Senedd or parliament.
He has had his go.

A few welsh bloggers may well have to keep their heads down!

Fully agree with your backing of the North Wales Police initiative of equipping their officers with mini cameras attached to their ears. As reported in today's Daily Post.
I am all for them having sound recording facilities also.
It will help the court to see how the police manner is towards people and how on odd occasions they can incite bad reactions form people.

They can certainly inflame situations with their aggressive manner, cameras with recording facilities would be a welcome addition for both parties
